ABOUT
MEET ELIZABETH MURDOCH
Hello, my name is Liz (she/her). I am a friendly, genuine, empathetic psychologist who works collaboratively with clients to ensure they feel understood and empowered to be the best version of themselves. I deliver a holistic, client-centred approach and create a safe space for individuals so they can achieve their personal goals and navigate a life aligned with their values.
I completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at the University of Queensland and then went on to complete my Master's in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Loughborough University (UK) followed by a PhD based at Curtin University and WA Institute of Sport. These experiences equipped me with knowledge and skills to work effectively in sporting systems and with athletes. I completed a Master’s in Professional Psychology at Curtin University (WA) whereby I gained experience working with adolescents and adults to improve mental health and wellbeing.
My passion for helping individuals is derived from my own experiences in elite sport, bringing a unique perspective to my practice. I have a strong swimming and rowing background, and I continue to be involved in competition and the sporting community.
I currently work with North Melbourne Football Club as their performance psychologist and the AFLPA network. I continue to work with the following sports in an individual capacity - swimming, athletics, rowing, hockey, football, rugby union, and rugby league. I also work with performers from The Australian Ballet.
Outside the therapy room, you’ll find me at the pool, skiing down the mountains, soaking up the ocean, reading a book in the sunshine, or spending time with quality humans.
